What do you thinks going to happen in chapter 61

I still have to understand how a confession to Haruhi can help Tamaki (according to Hikaru)

To me it seems he, as always, put himself before the others.

One thing I would add (sandy where did you find all that? I was able to find only a small small summary *_*) is that after hearing the others Hikaru indeed goes to Haruhi asking for her advice (not mentioning exactly what is the problem) and she tells him that the answer he is looking for is already in his heart.

No, she would have said something along along the lines of "Yes, I know...as your daughter." Sad... I hope the Club helps him.

Also, maybe Hikaru asked Haruhi to go out with him to make Tamaki jealous enough to fight for Haruhi. We can only hope that's his motive.

Btw, from one jap summary it seems that next month we will have another bonus chapter instead of the main one.
And always from the summary it seems that Tamaki will arrive at the mountain...but we'll have to wait 2 months to see all of this...

Now, Hikaru should explain well in this chapter why confessing to Haruhi would help Tamaki...because as of now I only see selfish behaviour at 100%
If he doesn't explain it I'll be very disappointed, I didn't think he would be able to disappoint me more but here we are.

How his "I want to help Tamaki but I don't want to renounce to Haruhi" make sense?

In the end apparently he puts himself...I should have expected it from Hikaru but I'm still disappointed. I won't say I hate him as of now I can't care at all for him, not love or hate.
I'm just disappointed. I hope that the chapter once we'll have it, will explain lots more.

honestly I don't know what to think...
As I see the scene it makes me wander if hikaru is acting for himself or for Tamaki.
At first reading the summary I thought he had the idea of acting for Tamaki this way as kaoru did for him. But after reading the scene I think he is acting for himself, not for Tamaki.
Maybe his desire of being a pair with haruhi is beyond his affection and respect for Tamaki, and maybe he understands that if he doesn't get over it he won't be able to help Tamaki.
Seriously... I don't' know what to think... I'd like to see more of the other parts of the chapter to understand it better.

You might know that I'm not Hikaru's biggest fan but I don't think he could do anything else. I mean, what good would do to Tamaki if he kept his feelings for himself?
If I were in his shoes, I don't think I would have given up to someone I love if my friend couldn't realise his feelings and/or couldn't accept them.

Honestly you can't suppress your feelings toward someone if they aren't less deep of the other feelings you have for another one.
So he just feel he loves haruhi more than he loves Tamaki.while Kaoru felt he loved hikaru the best.

My two cents about the new spoilers:

I think Hikaru is doing what Kaoru did... trying to wake up Tamaki. Haruhi and Hikaru had a 'date' before... but that time, Tono didn't know about Hika's feelings, so now it would be an actual threat to the status quo (But probably stupid Tamaki will think that Haruhi is in love with the twin, so...). Also, I think what Hikaru means with "I want to help Tono, but I won't renouce to Haruhi" is that it wouldn't be fair if he got Haruhi just because Tamaki has a childhood trauma - remember that Hikaru already knows/thinks/whatever who Haruhi actually loves... and it's not some stupid random guy; it's Tamaki, a friend who tried to help the twins to open their world. At the same time, he will try to convice Haruhi that he is worth hers, but it the end the decision will be hers...

I am biased, but actually I want Haruhi to reject Hikaru's advances before Tamaki assimilates his own feelings; I don't really want more shipper wars about who will get the girl when the matter seems pretty close (although Tamaki's trauma is the perfect excuse to give Hikaru a chance to show Haruhi that he is also an option)

I've the translation of the last part of the chapter... hikaru's confession!

here it is:

basically...Hikaru is in his room on the bed, after saving the head-boy of his class.
Apparently he was sleeping, so kaoru leaves the room while he wakes up.
then haruhi thinks to go to the others and tell them hikaru is awake...
then Hikaru call Haruhi and says...

hikaru: …ハルヒ　/...Haruhi
haruhi: んー？なに？　/ hnn? what? <while she is busy with the cellphone for giving the news to the others>
hikaru: 僕、ハルヒの事が好き　/ I love you, Haruhi.
haruki: はーそりやどうもーー/ ah, thanks for that. <she isn't looking at him 'cause she's busy with the cellphone>

Haruhi turns and says
haruhi: 本気だよ? / Are you serious?
hikaru: 本気なんだけど/ I'm serious actually.

then we have hikaru's thoughts:

“殿が僕らを明るい方へ導いてくれたじょうに, 僕も殿の事を助けたい”　/　"I want to help/save the King in the same way he lead us throught a sunny/bright/cheerful direction"
“けどもちろんハルヒの事だって諦めたりはしたくないから”　/　"but surely I don't want to give up on Haruhi"
“だから決めた事がある”　/　"that's why, I've made/taken my decision"

so we see hikau and haruhi's face and he says:

hikaru: “好きなんだ”　/　Because I love you
hikaru: “僕と付き合ってくれない？”　/　Wouldn't you go out with me?

Haruhi is still as dense as before, from her 1st reaction to Hikaru confession. >_<

Such a good way to end this chapter, cliffhanger. But its not hard to predict what is Haruhi's answer.

I think it's quite clear how Haruhi feels about Hikaru at this point "Awe, thanks for that" ?? And then she turns and asks "Are you serious?"

Not looking good for him. I think that just squashed any hope of that. Like, no one reacts like that or doesn't hear what they said unless they're like really in a hurry, then they do the "...what?" turn around and they may something like "are you serious?" but with a more in-awe look and like really gazing in to the person's eyes rather than like "O.O are you serious?!" I mean, you can just FEEL the romane happening.

BUT she may say yes just because she doesn't want to hurt his feelings, and Tamaki then will think se actually likes him and hopefully it'll spark a fire in him.
OR she'll tell him she has to think about it, but will really not intend to and then something happens that makes her decide to tell him no.
OR she will tell him to give her some time to think about it but then Tamaki will do something to make her angry so she'll go out with him to try and get over Tamaki.
OR she'll (ditto) but then confess to Tamaki who will, for one reason or another, turn her down so she'll give Hikaru a chance just because she never knows if something might develop *coughitwon'tcough*
OR she'll go out with him to help Tamaki IF something with his grandmother happens.

Also, she may piece together in her mind what the twins were fighting about before and confront Hikaru. I see something like:

Haruhi: I can't. Kaoru is in love with me too.
Hikaru: I know that but we've talked about it and decided I would pursue you.
Haruhi: You...would do that to Kaoru?

Or something like that and then she'd be mad probably. That's just another scenario. OR someone comes in during this confessions and ruins all of it so he doesn't get his answer.
