Btw, the "retire off of Ouran royalties" is kind of a joke... XD As we have been suspecting for some time, it seems that the manga is heading towards a climax. I don't think the climax is a good reason to, say, pick up alcoholism or lick some spark plugs, I'm sure we've got a lot of story left, like maybe a years worth. So who knows. But what are your thoughts about Hatori-sensei's future?

Well, I voted for Ouran side stories, but I'm waffling between that and a new work.
I did enjoy Millenium Snow, but to be honest... I don't think it's nearly on par with Ouran, as far as character, story, or art. It's enjoyable, but post-Ouran, I think Hatori-sensei could create something a lot better.

I thought she put Millenium Snow on hiatus? O_o [[I voted for Ouran side stories, I think Ouran will continue to be what she is known for, honestly.]]
But I agree with you, it's enjoyable, but it's not a close match with Ouran. >.>

I thought she put Millenium Snow on hiatus? O_o Yeah, so she might finish it when Ouran's done. :O But I don't really think she will. just not a "three years later", God, I HATE that kind of stuff!
What? XD Why? Maybe I shouldn't have included "Ouran random stories" in the options. O.o This is an Ouran forum, of course people are going to vote for Ouran. (And you can't write random Ouran stories forever...)

well, some more ouran side stories would be nice, but they'd only be appropriate immediately after ouran's end. and i agree, i would HATE a chapter about their lives 3 years later...too cliched. i would only like a 3 years later chapter if it was about some other random character like nekozawa or renge, characters we dont hear too much about anyways.
aside from that, hatori should totally finish sennen no yuki. i hate it when people dont finish what they started XD; but i dont think sennen no yuki will be a shoujo epic like host club was; at best i think she has maybe 2 more volumes to write for sennen. just have chiyuki and touya get together or something (or satoshi/whats his face...or leave it ambiguous XD!) and then call it a day.
i am totally looking forward to a new work though ;x it would be great if she randomly wrote a horror mystery or something XD i love when mangaka try to take on new genres that are completely different than what they wrote before~

I would love for her to go back to Millenium Snow, so that is what I vored for. I like that series alot, and it's because I had read that, that I was intrigued to read Ouran since I recognized the authoress' name.
Although since it has been so long and so little of the series was written, coming back after so long, it might not be so well received. So, a new series would be great also.

I think she'll move on to another series. Hopefully she'll do a couple Ouran specials every now and then too.

Millenium Snow please!
The fans for that manga really helped Hatori-sensei get her footing in the world of manga, and she owes it to them to continue and finish that story. Besides, don't the characters remind you of Ouran characters? Toya is totally an early Kyoya, and Satsuki is definitely Tamaki. So it'd be kinda like a continuation (?) of Ouran.

I just picked up Millenium Snow at Barnes and Noble last week and I really lliked it! Its a cute series (but the vampire and werewolf remind me of Twilight! D:)
Anyway, it deffinitely reminded me of Ouran (the characters), and I think its a cute series that deserves an ending.

I want to see a new work. I read a bit of Sennen no Yuki and went 'this isn't as good as Ouran, and not nearly as good as what she's capable of' and so I dropped it. Plus, a certain series has put me off the whole vampire romance theme for life

Hi. ♥

I'd personally like for her to go back to Millennium Snow - at the very least just to give it a conclusion of some sort - but really I'd prefer for her to pursue it as a full series.
As some people said, it isn't really up to snuff with Ouran, but consider this: throughout writing Ouran, Hatori has grown a great deal as a mangaka - at least, that's how I feel. I can see it in her art, and the growth of the story as it goes on - she's developed a lot, I think. So, after Ouran, if she went back to Millennium Snow, I believe she could do great things with it, and I'd like to see where she could take it. From what she has written of it already, I can see some potential for a really captivating story - especially considering that it's Hatori-sensei - and I think the characters could be very interesting once she gives them more shape and character development. Also, I'd really love to see how the characters look with the way her art is now.
And then after Millennium Snow, I would definitely love for her to start a new work. I'd like to see what else she could come up with - I'd just like to see the rest of Millennium Snow before then.
Also, sorry if this post is a little overly passionate. Hatori-sensei is just my favorite mangaka, so I get carried away so easily. ;___;

I choose Write random Ouran side stories. BUT if she wants to go back to Millenium Snow/start a new work/whatever, then it's fine with me. I just want to read more mangas made by her, and obviously, buy them. That's my way to say her 'Thanks for your work, Hatori-san'

Ngggh I can't believe I haven't commented on here >< I remember voting though..I picked Millenium Snow x3
I'd really love her to continue with it - did she ever give a reason for why she stopped writing it? Apart from the "to continue with Ouran instead"? Maybe the publishers thought Ouran would be more popular?
As much as I'd love to see more Ouran side stories, there's only so much you can do, and honestly, I'd rather it end on a bang, than make it drag out. Like Harry Potter - I was pretty satisfied with the ending, and it was great how she didn't keep writing side stories..there's only so much you can write xDD Still, maybe one or two side stories would be sweet <3 I'd love to see another fanbook or something!
Anyway, if she decides to write something completely new, I'd totally follow it too <3 I've never laughed or cried this much over another manga..anything she writes will be brilliant, I'm sure.
